About us

Harpswell Corner Market is a new business located at the site of the former Vegetable Corner. The store has been a gathering spot for locals as well as visitors to the area for many years, with people stopping by for coffee and baked goods, or groceries and a chat closer to home.

Corner Market plans to build on this history and offer the community a market filled with local produce and groceries, as well as delicious breakfast pastries, breads, and sandwiches. Come by for the things you need and leave with some things you love!

Joe is serious about good food. He started young and in high school worked at grocery stores, farms and restaurants. More recently he was a chef at NYC restaurants (Bouley, NoMad) and in free time delights friends and family with his pizza creations. Through all his food experiences Joe has maintained a (dry) sense of humor and a focus on great taste and quality, character traits that will come in handy at the Corner Market.

Joe loves a batch of homemade kombucha, a serious snowfall, and playing sports with his kids.

Katie grew up in Bowdoin and returned to the area about 15 years ago. She has experience in starting businesses and leading teams, and is excited to help re-establish Corner Market for the Harpswell community.

Katie enjoys heavily frosted cookies, keeping up traditions, and trying to catch the frogs in the small pond beside the store.
